Reporting And Analysis
Knowing how to show your client that what you are doing is worthwhile is key in client retention. A reporting method that combines several different sources of data is often the best option. Google Drive is an easy way to share saved data and reports on one simple to use platform.
Documents
A simple Word document or PDF detailing everything you have done for a client is sometimes sufficient. Simply recap the work you agreed to do, and detail how you fulfilled your obligations. Include links to analytics or accounts to show proof.
Spreadsheets
A spreadsheet is helpful if you have promised a certain quota of actions – for example, you could arrange data such as Facebook Likes and Twitter Followers according to date, with a running total for each platform. Spreadsheets can also be used to define goals and note whether they are met. You can break down tasks and show daily, weekly and monthly results.
Calendars
If you want to show a client that you are working on their project daily, you can list each day’s action on a simple calendar. This works well for month to month clients. Combine with an end of the month document report that lists goals met for the month as well as an outline for the next month’s work.
Screenshots
You can also screenshot data from different tools or site analytics to deliver to clients to provide a visual of the results of your efforts. Sites like TweetStats can aggregate information from your twitter account and present it in easy to understand bar graph mode.
