Below are the instructions for how to create your free account on Freelancer.com. Don’t forget that during the signup process you have the option to choose a free or a paid account and you only need to get the free account.

Step 1: Go to http://freelancer.com

Please click on the “Sign up “ link. You will be brought to the page below.

You have the option to sign up using your facebook log-in details, but if you would like to create a specific account, proceed with the signup process, fill in the boxes that ask for your email address, username and with desired password.

You will be asked to Select your skills and expertise, Just click on the boxes of categories, and it will forward you to list of skills, select your skills,you are allowed to select 20 skills, then hit “next. You can use the “Back to categories” button if you would like to select on different category. And the, you will be forwarded to this page

Next will be the area where you can set up and verify your Payment Method. You can skip this step for now but verifying your Payment Method is very important.

Freelancer has paid and free membership plan. If you'd like to continue with a free membership plan, click on "Skip for now".

Note: Freelancer is free to sign up, create a profile, select skills of projects you are interested in, upload a portfolio, receive project notifications, discuss project details with the employer, bid on projects (free members receive initially 8 bids per month) and enter contests.
