Step 1: Go to http://upwork.com

Click on the "SIGN UP" tab

Fill in the form with your basic information and then click on “Get Started”

You will them be taken to a page where you will continue to fill in the form with your basic information.
Put a checkmark on the Yes, I understand and agree to the Upwork Terms of Service, including the User Agreement and Privacy Policy. Box.
Then click on the "Next" button.

You will be brought to this page. It will ask you to verify your email. So please check your email and click on the verification link.

After you click on the verification link, it will route you to this page.
You need to select which services you will provide, in your case it is social media management which falls under ‘Sales and Marketing’ then select ‘SMM – Social Media Marketing’.

Enter your skills and If you are just getting started in social media management you can choose “Entry Level" and click ‘Save & Continue’.

You will then be asked to introduce yourself. In this section you should give a brief overview of your work history, your interest and experience with social media sites (this can just be experience with your own personal social media accounts) and about your desire to help businesses reach their goals with social media.

Upload a clear photo of yourself, fill in the other basic information.

You will be asked to set your hourly rates, and your local information. Then hit on “Review Application and Submit”.

You will be asked to double check all of the information that you've entered before submitting your application. Once you're sure that everything is error-free, go ahead and click on "Submit My Application to Join" button.

And that’s it!

Your profile will then be reviewed by Upwork over the next 24 hours and they will send you an email when it is live. Once your profile goes live you can start applying for jobs from the ‘Social Media Job Database’ in your members area here!
